Parent Talk at Octoburst is back again this year. Packed with wonderful tips on creating storytelling traditions in the home. A firm believer in preserving family history through storytelling, Katherine McLeod hopes to teach and encourage parents to write their own personal stories for children. She will then share ideas on how to animate them to make for fun storytelling experiences for everyone. |

| Workshop: Creating Community and Connection Through Storytelling |
If you are an educator or parent, this workshop is for you. Katherine will be leading participants through a variety of methods for igniting stories at both school and at home. Discover how to create interesting and diverse story spaces, using art and craft to further deepen the story experience, story making with OH Cards, and simple ways to add music and rhythm to your stories. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to Katherine share her stories and ideas, plus an opportunity to work in small groups and explore new storytelling methods. No previous experience necessary... just a simple desire to come along and have some fun while learning to create and present amazing stories. Katherine McLeod will be presenting a series of new true stories from her Canadian childhood this upcoming Vesak Day National Holiday in Singapore. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the community created by an intimate storytelling performance at the studio. A surprise guest musician will also be joining us. Only 10 families for this performance, please register early.
