Operation Ginger Bread (OGB) is an enthusiastic group of Thursday night knitters who contribute their knitting and earnings from knitting to charity. We have been meeting at studio inthegroove for over two years, and during this time have knit many colourful ginger folk.
This past Chinese New Year we packed up some gift boxes for an orphanage in Singapore. Next year we will be going to Malaysia and helping to contribute to some of the Orang Asli (indigenous) communities. There are many Orang Asli who are in need of medical, food, and school supplies. If you are interested in getting involved with our project, please contact us. Also, you may have some items that you no longer need. These items can be anything from clothing, household items, school supplies, toys, to name a few. All of these things will be put to very good use in these communities where there is a great deal of poverty. For more information about the Malaysian Orang Asli, please visit the Center for Orang Asli Concerns at www.coac.org.my |
